Lion attacks 8-year-old boy in Lahore’s Sabzazar area

LAHORE – An eight-year-old boy lost his arm after being attacked by a lion at a private breeding farm in Sabzazar.

Police said the victim, identified as Wajid Ali, approached the lions while playing. Improper enclosure arrangements and owner negligence caused the attack.

Authorities noted that the farm owners initially tried to hide the incident from the police. However, officials acted swiftly and arrested the accused.

The injured child was rushed to a hospital and placed on life-support equipment. Doctors amputated his arm to save his life.

Wajid was later transferred to Ganga Ram Hospital for further medical care. A five-member medical board is supervising his treatment.

Police confirmed a case has been registered under the Wildlife Act and other relevant laws. Authorities are pursuing further legal action.

Officials emphasized that keeping dangerous wild animals without proper safeguards will not be tolerated. Investigations continue into negligence by the lion owners.
